The Kansas City Chiefs sent shockwaves through the NFL world on Wednesday when they signed controversial kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad.
Tucker hasn’t played in the NFL since 2024 after he was cut by the Baltimore Ravens. At the time, Tucker was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 massage therapists in the Baltimore area stemming from incidents that allegedly happened between 2012 and 2016.
It didn’t take long after the signing was announced that social media started raking the Chiefs over the coals for signing such a radioactive player. Fans also unearthed a previous dispute from 2024 between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Tucker when he was still on the Ravens.

The incident happened during the AFC Championship Game in which Tucker was stretching in the area the Chiefs offense was warming up in. Frustrated by Tucker’s ignorance, Kelce marched over and threw Tucker’s helmet and football out of the way. He also addressed the incident the following week on his “New Heights” podcast.
“We’re warming up, and we do our same warm up every single time,” Kelce said. “… If you’re trying to go to the other team’s designated area, you kind of stay out of their way. You don’t interfere with what they have going on. That’s the unwritten rule. If you want to be a f---ing d--- about it, you keep your helmet and your football and your f---ing kicking tee right where the quarterbacks are warming up.
“Justin came out and he said it was more of a joking gesture and a kind of fun competition — and I get it, he was kind of winking at me, kind of being a d--- about it, trying to get under our skin. … Justin, sorry if you think we took it to a level you didn’t think it would get to that place, but if you’re going to be a d---, I promise you, I can one-up you every time.”
Chiefs fans immediately found video of Kelce addressing the incident on Wednesday morning and enjoyed a few laughs at the awkwardness that might ensue now that they’re both teammates.

“Maybe the Chiefs just did this so Kelce can bully Tucker on the regular,” one fan joked.
“Tucker was never the same after Travis put a curse on him and now they’re teammates, what are we doing,” another fan stated.
“They are meeting at the flagpole. Fights on,” remarked another fan.
“Well, practice will be interesting,” one user stated.
“Never forget Travis Kelce going after Justin Tucker on his podcast over his pregame routine in the AFC Championship 🤣,” another user quipped.
“I just remembered this incident and now they’re teammates lmao I’m sure things won’t be awkward at all,” one fan replied.
