The Kansas City Chiefs have a big weekend coming up as they prepare to face their AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos, one week after suffering an embarrassing 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on primetime.

The last thing the Chiefs needed was having one of their star offensive players pop up on the Thursday injury report—but, that's exactly what happened this week.

Tight end Travis Kelce's name appeared on the Thursday injury report as he was limited in practice because of an ankle injury. He rolled his ankle during the Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The bad news is Kelce went from a full participant to limited from Wednesday to Thursday. The ankle is clearly bothering him if he downgraded his involvement in practice from one day to the next.

It would be rough if Kelce can't play come Sunday, especially after he expressed how fired up he is to face the Broncos specifically. Here's what he said on the "New Heights" podcast this week.

“It’s going to be another challenge," Kelce said. "We are coming off a game where we didn’t perform well in any phase. It’s gotta fire you the [expletive] up man, you gotta have a nasty taste in your mouth when you lose. I’ll be [expletive] if we go out there and [expletive] have another [expletive] showing like that again, I can promise you that.”

Wide receiver Rashee Rice was also a limited participant in Thursday's practice with a right hamstring strain. He's missed the Chiefs' last two contests because of the injury, but he is trending towards making a return soon, even if it isn't this weekend versus the Broncos.
