It was a physical game between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

After halftime, the Broncos ruled out two of their stars because of concussions: wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and cornerback Riley Moss.

Waddle was tackled by Carolina's Marco Wilson and Zakee Wheatley while attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Bo Nix in the first quarter. Waddle was hit pretty hard as he fell to the ground. Wilson was called for a taunting penalty on the play.

Waddle had just one catch for 22 yards before suffering the early injury. He's the Broncos' leading receiver this season with 29 catches for 315 yards and two touchdowns.

Courtland Sutton, who sits behind Waddle on the top receiving list in Denver, delivered even before Waddle went out by scoring a touchdown in the first quarter.

Then, in the second quarter, Moss tackled Panthers running back Trevor Etienne. But, Moss took a knee to the head from Etienne while he was bringing the running back to the ground. He laid on the field while holding onto his helmet. Moss was able to walk to the locker room on his own accord, though.

Moss had two tackles before he was ruled out on Sunday. He's recorded a total of 27 tackles and one interception through eight games.

The Broncos head into their bye week after Sunday's matchup, meaning Waddle and Moss will have two weeks to clear concussion protocol before Denver's matchup versus the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Nov. 22. The timing was best case scenario, even though it's unfortunate for both players to suffer concussions and miss out on the rest of Sunday's game versus the Panthers.
