Sunday marked a special day for longtime sports media personality Mike Tirico who has slowly worked his way up in the profession and has the opportunity to call his first-ever Super Bowl for NBC as the play-by-play broadcaster alongside his partner and color commentator Cris Collinsworth.
Tirico is and has been a fan favorite in the booth; he does just about everything for the network and has begun branching off into the NBA with their new partnership.
Yet, he also does the Olympics and immediately after the Super Bowl matchup in which the Seattle Seahawks won over the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco, Tirico made his way to the field to host an Olympics segment, "Primetime in Milan," live from the field.

On Monday, Tirico landed in Milan to host the broadcast, officially becoming the first U.S. broadcaster to call both the Super Bowl and the Olympics in the same year.
Tirico joined NBC in 2016 and has since become the network’s ultimate Swiss Army knife. In addition to NFL, NBA, and Olympic coverage — which alternates between the Summer and Winter Games every two years — he also calls the Kentucky Derby, the U.S. Open, and The Open Championship, along with a variety of other major events across NBC’s platforms.
