AJ Lee knows exactly who she wants to see back in WWE, and she made her wishes clear in a new interview.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated ahead of WrestleMania 42, the Women's Intercontinental Champion said she would love for both Paige and Kaitlyn to return to the company, citing the personal and professional history she shares with both women.

"I love Paige. If I could bring somebody back, her and Kaitlyn. Let's get them back," Lee said.

Lee and Paige were two of the defining figures in the women's division during the 2012 to 2014 era, taking part in a series of televised singles matches that helped drive the division's storylines during that period. Kaitlyn was equally prominent in the same timeframe, feuding extensively with Lee for the Divas Championship in one of the more emotionally driven programs of that era.

Speaking specifically about Paige, Lee expressed genuine affection and admiration, describing the relationship between the two as one where she took a mentorship role early on.

"It would be great. She's so talented and I knew it from day one. We'd always joke that I was her fairy godmother and I just took her under my wing and tried to protect her," Lee said. "And just to see her now, it would be kind of heartwarming and healing, and she would be a great addition to this locker room. I think this place has really come a long way and the women work together so beautifully, and they're so supportive. I would love for her to experience just how fun it is now."

Lee herself recently returned to WWE after more than a decade away, winning the Women's Intercontinental Championship from Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber 2026 in her first singles match in over ten years. Her comeback has reignited interest in what a broader reunion of the women who defined that 2012 to 2014 era could look like.

Paige has been away from WWE since retiring from in-ring competition in 2018 due to a neck injury. Kaitlyn, whose real name is Celeste Bonin, has made sporadic returns to the wrestling world over the years but has not had a sustained WWE run since her original departure in 2014.

Lee defends the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42, which takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
