Mustafa Ali secured a major victory at TNA "Genesis" this past weekend, but the win came at a physically grueling price. Following his match against Elijah, the former WWE Superstar took to social media to reveal a gruesome injury he sustained during the bout, sharing an image that many fans found difficult to look at.
In the second match of the night, Ali—accompanied by Tasha Steelz, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, and Special Agent 0—defeated Elijah in a contest lasting just over nine minutes. The chaotic finish saw Ali capitalize on the numbers game, landing a hard guitar shot to Elijah’s back to secure the pinfall.
However, despite picking up the win, Ali failed to escape the match scratch-free. Shortly after the event concluded, he posted an extremely graphic photo showcasing his toenail, which appeared to be nearly uprooted with dried blood surrounding the nail bed.

Injuries are extremely common in professional wrestling, and this specific post captured the brutal lengths talent will go to for a performance. While Ali was able to walk away with the victory, the severity of the toe injury has raised questions about his immediate status.

It is currently unknown how long Ali will require to recover from the injury or if it will impact his upcoming booking. TNA management has not yet released an official statement regarding his medical clearance for the next set of television tapings.
Since joining TNA following his WWE departure, he has remained a top and key figure for the promotion. This would impact their star power at a critical time for the promotion should he miss significant time.
