Roman Reigns’ highly anticipated comeback might not be a surprise anymore, and it appears the spoiler came from inside the house. A discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio has highlighted a costly production gaffe where WWE seemingly sent out the wrong show description to TV guide providers.

This may have inadvertently revealed that the former Undisputed Champion is scheduled to return. Dave Meltzer broke down the situation.

He explained that a listing circulating for "SmackDown" contained details that were suspiciously specific. The description referenced a storyline involving Maxxine Dupri recovering from a loss to Becky Lynch.

It was followed by the blunt revelation: "Roman Reigns returns." The working theory is that WWE mistakenly sent a draft or a future "Raw" description to be used for the "SmackDown" slot.

“I saw... okay, so on the... what's it called—this little scroll. Scroll for SmackDown because it said, ‘How Maxxine Dupri tries to recover from her loss to Becky Lynch’ and ‘Roman Reigns returns,’” Meltzer noted.

The leak is significant because these listings are usually tightly controlled to prevent exactly this kind of spoiler. They feed into cable guides and streaming schedules globally.

This means a single slip-up propagates instantly. Meltzer was direct in his assessment of the situation, attributing it to human error rather than a strategic marketing ploy.

“That’s the thing that WWE sent to the TV Guide people… they sent it for SmackDown. So somebody just screwed up,” he stated.

The leak has created a unique problem for WWE. Instead of building suspense through teases and cliffhangers, the fanbase is now dissecting schedules to pinpoint the date.

“Yeah, so it could be the week after.” This uncertainty implies that while the return is locked in, the specific episode may not be the one immediately upcoming, leaving fans to guess which broadcast will feature the "Head of the Table."
