Trick Williams is reportedly on the verge of a main roster call-up, with sources indicating that the former NXT Champion is present backstage for tonight’s WWE television tapings. The 31-year-old star has been a cornerstone of the NXT brand over the past year, achieving historic milestones including becoming the first superstar to hold the NXT Championship and the TNA World Championship simultaneously.

According to a report from BodySlam.net, Williams is at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where WWE is taping episodes of both "Monday Night Raw" and "Friday Night SmackDown" to cover the upcoming holiday schedule. The report states that Williams is expected to be called up "imminently," signaling the end of his tenure in developmental.

“Trick Williams is backstage for tonight’s RAW and SmackDown double taping. He’s expected to be called up soon, though it’s currently unclear whether he’ll appear on either show tonight,” the report noted.

More news: Nikki Bella Reunites With Ex-Boyfriend At WWE Raw

While his on-screen role for tonight remains unconfirmed, his presence at a main roster taping aligns with recent speculation about his future. Williams has accomplished nearly everything possible in NXT, including high-profile feuds with Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov, as well as a crossover reign as TNA World Champion that saw him defend the title on WWE programming.

A move to "SmackDown" would facilitate a reunion with his real-life fiancée, Lash Legend. Legend is currently a member of the blue brand's roster, where she has formed a formidable alliance with Nia Jax. The duo has been a focal point of the women's tag team division, recently picking up a victory over The Kabuki Warriors.

Williams previously appeared on "SmackDown" in a dark match capacity back in 2021, but a formal call-up would mark his official transition to the main roster as a singles competitor. With "Royal Rumble" season approaching, the timing appears ideal for a new face to make an impact on the road to "WrestleMania."
