The teams for the upcoming NXT vs. TNA Showdown special on October 7 have been officially set, but the selection process has created significant controversy. One of WWE's most prominent stars, Jordynne Grace, was left off the card and has now publicly voiced her frustration.
The storyline for the crossover event is based on TNA wrestlers being upset that NXT superstars are holding their championships. However, in a questionable decision, TNA authority figure Santino Marella appointed NXT star Kelani Jordan as the captain of Team TNA for the women's elimination match. Jordan is the current TNA Knockouts World Champion.
It was explained that Grace and fellow TNA star Joe Hendry were excluded from the event due to their past history with both promotions, leading to questions about where their loyalties lie.

In response, Grace posted a video on social media on October 3, stating that her absence from the Showdown is a "huge problem" that needs to be fixed. She heavily criticized Marella's decision to name Jordan as the captain of the TNA team.
The criticism drew a sharp and dismissive response from Kelani Jordan. The Team TNA captain took to social media to mockingly offer Grace a role at the event.

“Okay fine, bring your TNA shirt and I can fit you in as our mascot. As TNA Captain and Knockouts World Champion, that’s the best I can do!” Jordan wrote.
Grace's exclusion is noteworthy given her history as a crossover star. She has previously competed in the WWE Women's Royal Rumble match and challenged for the NXT Women's Championship, establishing her as a top-tier talent in both promotions.
This public dispute has added a new layer of intrigue just days before the Showdown. While Grace is not officially booked, her strong comments have led to fan speculation that she may still appear on October 7 to make her presence felt, either by proving her loyalty or seeking retribution against the team captain.
