Concerns surround the status of WWE Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer following the January 5 episode of "Monday Night Raw." The champion arrived at the Barclays Center wearing a medical walking boot on her left leg.

This immediately raised questions about her health. During the broadcast, the commentary team addressed the visual.

They are attributing the injury to her Triple Threat title defense last week against Raquel Rodriguez and Nikki Bella. However, the situation escalated during her in-ring promo when Rodriguez launched an assault.

The segment concluded with Rodriguez delivering a Tejana Bomb and ruthlessly targeting Vaquer's injured limb. It blurred the lines between storyline and reality.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the injury is not merely a work for television. Speaking on the post-show review, Sapp confirmed that Vaquer is indeed dealing with a legitimate physical issue.

“It is a legit injury. I was just told that the injury was legit, and I do not know the severity of it,” Sapp reported.

The timing is precarious with the "Royal Rumble" in Saudi Arabia scheduled for January 31. However, the fact that Vaquer appeared in a walking boot rather than a cast—and was cleared for limited physicality during the attack segment—offers a glimmer of optimism.

Speculation suggests that if the injury is minor, WWE may be able to keep the title on her by limiting her in-ring action until the "Elimination Chamber" event in February. For now, the champion's status remains day-to-day as the "Road to WrestleMania" begins.

WWE does have options should they have her vacate the title and make a new champion. She has yet to comment on her injury status.
