Fans are getting ready to "engage" with Star Trek: Picard, CBS' new series that sees Patrick Stewart return as his iconic character. The first of the series' 10 episodes will be streaming on CBS All Access from Thursday, January 22, with the premiere then airing the following day on Amazon Prime Video. Both streaming services also allow Picard viewers to download episodes of the Star Trek spin-off for offline viewing.
How to watch Star Trek: Picard online in the U.S.
In America, Picard is on CBS All Access, meaning that the streaming service is the only way to watch the Star Trek series. Episodes will be released on the platform every Wednesday for the next 10 weeks.
New subscribers get a seven-day free trial of the streaming service, where they can watch not only Star Trek: Picard, but also Star Trek series Discovery, Enterprise, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation, The Original Series and even the two seasons of The Animated Series from 1973.
After the week free trial, the service is available with commercials for $5.99 a month and $9.99 with no ads, or subscribers can save 15 percent if they subscribe annually for $59.99 with commercials and $99.99 without. As for how fans can download episodes for offline viewing, CBS All Access allowers subscribers to download up to 25 episodes at any one time using their Download & Play feature, and these videos can be watched on up to five devices.
Among the devices that CBS All Access is available on are Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well as most Apple and Android devices.
Fans in the U.S. who want to watch Picard on Amazon Prime Video can do so with the CBS All Access add-on, which costs the same as the regular service.

How to watch Star Trek: Picard online internationally
Outside of America, the show is airing on Amazon Prime Video, where episodes will be released weekly on Fridays, the day after they air on CBS All Access. Amazon Prime Video offers a 30-day free trial, after which time it costs $8.99 a month on its own or $12.99 as part of a wider Amazon Prime subscription, which costs $119 if you subscribe annually.
The streamer also allows users to download episodes onto its app, which is available on all major devices. According to the Prime Video help page: "You can download available titles to only two devices at one time. If you have already downloaded a title to two devices, you need to delete it from one of them before downloading it to another device. Depending on your location, you can have a maximum of either 15 or 25 total Prime Video titles downloaded at a time across all devices associated with your Amazon account."
