'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Capital Supremacy Mode Revealed With Command Posts

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will soon get a new mode called Capital Supremacy, and it features Command Posts. The concept is essentially a multi-stage version of Battlefield's iconic Conquest game type with a more varied series of objectives. It's described in detail in EA's latest Community Transmission.

Above all, the main goal of Capital Supremacy is to capture the opposing team's Capital Ship and destroy it. With that premise, two teams of 20 and AI squads of 12 meet on a transformed version of Geonosis. In true Clone Wars fashion, only applicable era Heroes are available. The battle begins on the surface, where players must capture any of five command posts. Holding the majority of these neutral points earns tickets, which progress the state of the fight. After a team earns enough tickets, transports arrive. Extra tickets are awarded for reaching the transport in time.

After that, the dual-stage Capital Ship Assault phase begins. Players must override the ship's doors and computer systems. A successful defense of these actions stops the attack from progressing, but the bar cannot be reset. Once the timer elapses or both generators are destroyed, the match is over.

Capital Supremacy has been in the works at DICE for quite some time and was teased as a large-scale game mode during E3 last June. In October, developers confirmed Command Posts would be part of the concept. Fans have long wondered what the new mode will be called, and now we finally have an answer. A release date for Capital Supremacy was not formally announced, but we imagine it'll be featured in Battlefront 2's next major update.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
