'Stranger Things' Season 4 May Already Be Filming: Leaked Images of Possible Set May Reveal Major Character's Fate

Good news, Stranger Things fans! Production for hit Netflix original may resume sooner than we think, according to what appears to be information leaks about the series.

Though Netflix declined to comment, TVLine reported Thursday that the fourth season of Stranger things "will likely consist of eight total episodes"— same as the show's first and third seasons. The outlet went to "confirm that Season 4 is slated to begin shooting in January and will likely wrap in August," offering the suggestion of a fall 2020 release.

But according to BGR, a possible second leak of information about the sci-fi fantasy program popped up earlier this month in the form of a Reddit post showing images of what looks like a set piece: Photos show a car that looks a whole lot like the character Jim Hopper's iconic 1980 Chevy Blazer parked near similarly retro vehicles as well as film trucks.

"Filming has begun in Rome, GA," wrote the Reddit user, captioning the photo. "Here's everything I got until I got asked to leave," the original poster continued, providing a link to images of what could be one of the show's shooting locations.

Not everyone was convinced. "Saw them filming on 2nd headed towards broad," another person responded, contesting the post. "Crew guy said it was for a film called 'Blue Bayou' which is the working title for 'Black Widow.' They were also getting shots of the Rome high football game last night. I really hope it's stranger things tho."

Of course, this exciting tidbit had many feeling optimistic about the fate of fan-favorite Hopper, who appeared to succumb to a horrible end in the season three finale.

"Oh my god, the ending–it was really sad. I mean, I cried," Stranger Things cast member Noah Schnapp told Entertainment Tonight back in July. "I hope Hopper isn't fully gone, but I feel like he'll be coming back. I don't think he's gone forever."

Even David Harbour, who portrays Hopper, wasn't sure about the character's fate. "I have no idea! I mean that, of course, is my hope too," he told Entertainment Tonight. "It seems pretty crazy though. You know, that machine went off and blew up and Hopper seemed to be trapped there. He did glance around a little bit, but he seemed to be trapped and the machine exploded."

However, Hopper's unexpected—and unconfirmed—demise might prove to be the push Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) needs to discover more about herself in Season 4.

"I hope she finds who she is, without a boy, a male influence in her life. There's Mike and Papa and Hopper and all the boys really," Brown said in an interview with Elle on October 8. "Even without Max, she needs to find herself by herself."
