Listeners flooded Twitter with praise for the Atlanta singer's first studio album and were quick to note the emotional rollercoaster some songs sent them on. Throughout 18-tracks, Walker sings about the woes of relationships ranging from losing interest in a lover, secret affairs, and the struggle of avoiding temptation.

"Summer Walker about to leave us in our feelings for the rest of the year," one Twitter user wrote on Friday.

Others were impressed with the many guest features on the album. A number of hip hop and R&B darlings made appearances on Over It including A Boogie wit da Hoodie, PARTYNEXTDOOR, 6lack, Bryson Tiller, Usher and Jhené Aiko, whom Walker recently accompanied on the "Triggered (Freestyle)" remix released on Wednesday.

"So Summer Walker just gonna sample Usher, with Usher, while he samples Usher. On Usher's track? #OVERIT," one user wrote.

Joe Kay, host and creator of Beats 1 radio show, Soulection Radio, was also pleased with the variety of features on the album. "This new Summer Walker is really nice," he wrote. "So ill to hear her on tracks with Bryson, party & usher especially."

The album also features an appearance from Drake with the "Girls Need Love Too" remix. The original version of the song was initially featured on Walker's 2018 EP, Last Day of Summer. Drake, who became a fan of the song after listening, jumped on the track.

Walker revealed how the Drake collaboration came to be during an interview with Billboard, released Tuesday, and explained the Canadian rapper reached out to her via Instagram. "I think [Drake] slid into the DMs and was like, 'I saw your video on a bowling alley monitor—thought it was cool,'" she explained.

"And then Justice [Daiden, co-founder of the LVRN record label to which Walker is signed] made me ask him to [jump on the song] and he said yes," Walker added.

Walker is gearing up to go on a North American tour, set to kick off in late October. New York rapper Melii will join Walker on the First and Las Tour, which is expected to make stops in Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York City, Dallas, Memphis and a number of other cities.

Over It is available on all streaming platforms, as well as iTunes.
