Man Accused of Taking Photos of Girls at Target Had Child Porn on Phone: Police

A man in Pennsylvania is facing a string of charges including possession of child pornography after he was accused of taking pictures of girls inside a Target store.

Michael Behun, 45, of North Huntingdon, was arrested after Upper Saint Clair police received reports from mothers that a man was taking pictures of their daughters using his phone on October 29.

After an officer detained the suspect, they found thousands of pictures of underage girls and at least 50 photos of child abuse on his phone, reported WTAE.

The suspect later admitted (while being questioned by police) to searching for child porn.

Speaking to WPXI, Lt. Michael Lindenfelser, of the Upper Saint Clair Police Department, said the officer who arrived at the scene had to separate the concerned mothers away from the suspect.

"There was a brief struggle between the mothers of the teenagers and the suspect over what was on the phone," Lindenfelser said.

It is unclear if Behun took any photos of the girls while at the Target store at South Hills Village. Police said they will be looking to see if he has any other electronic device as part of the investigation.

Lindenfelser clarified that a majority of the 4,400 images that were the suspect's phone appeared to be modeling pictures of teens and young child between the ages of nine and 15, as well as the child pornography.

"Without getting too involved in what was on the devices, it's disturbing that individuals can consume this info from the internet," Lindenfelser added.

Local residents described their shock following the arrest.

"It's very disturbing because so many children go into that store. It's a great store for young kids. It's terrifying," Upper Saint Clair resident Carol Prantl told WPXI.

A special agent with the Attorney General's office who deals with child sex offense cases assisted Upper Saint Clair police with their investigation.

Behun faces a preliminary hearing later this month.

The Upper Saint Clair Police Department have been contacted for further comment.
