Teamfight Tactics is Riot Games' take on the immensely popular Auto Chess formula. Players build an army of champions from League of Legends like Warwick, Vayne and Kassadin, who then automatically fight it out on the board. It's a really simple game to pick-up, but masteringit requires time, patience and a handy cheat sheet. Knowing which champions to put together in a squad is crucial for success because of the bonuses that are granted to you from groups. For example, putting three Noble units together (like Garen, Vayne and Lucian) will grant you extra armor and heal on hit.

Late game, the only way to survive is to have a powerful grouping of champions from the same origin or class, as well as powerful items. Item pieces drop from creep encounters (which happen every few turns) or from picking a character from the carousel.

The game mode is still currently being tested on the PBE so Riot Games can be better preparedwhen the new MOBA mode launches on June 25. Based on what we've seen from a few hours of gameplay and various streams, it's clear that there are a few champions that stand out from the rest. Even without bonuses, some of these champions are worth picking just for the powerful attacks alone.
That doesn't mean you should abandon synergy to pick these champions, having bonuses will help you win more games. Here's a tier list for the best champions as well as a breakdown of some of the top choices on why they are great.
Teamfight Tactics Tier List
Draven- The best marksman in Teamfight Tactics is the tilt lord himself. His passive increases his damage with each enemy champion he kills, allowing him to go berserk if left unattended. Since the AI isn't the smartest, they might ignore your Draven and allow him to output some ridiculous DPS. Dump your attack damage and speed items on this burly boy and the game can be yours.
Mordekaiser- One of the strongest early game champions, Mordekaiser is a tank that can squash weak enemies. His ability has him thwack his mace on the ground like Thor, destroying all who oppose him. Getting a two-star Mord in the early game can carry you for at least five rounds.
Garen- You spin me right round, baby right round! Garen's AoE slash attack is fantastic on the tiny TT board. Make sure you pair him with other Nobles if you want to keep him in the late game and not waste his potential.
Darius- Like Garen, Darius has a great AoE clear that chunks enemies. He also heals with this attack and when combined with the Noble increase on-hit healing, he becomes a massive juggernaut.
Aurelion Sol- Dragon breath really hurts and knockbacks enemy units. However, he needs other units to synergize with, like Shyvana or Karthus, to be successful.
Other good champions include Gnar, Brand Kassadin and Pyke.
