Tennessee Drive-By Shooting Kills 6-Year-Old Girl, 16-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition
A 6-year-old girl has died in a drive-by shooting in Tennessee, police said.
The girl and a 16-year-old boy were hit in a shooting at a residence in the Hickory Hill neighborhood of Memphis on Monday night, WMC reported.
The Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting on the 6800 block of Kirby Mills Cove shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday.
The two children were transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in downtown Memphis, police said. Both were reportedly in a critical condition.
The 6-year-old female juvenile has been pronounced deceased. This is an ongoing homicide investigation.

Memphis Police provided an update on Twitter Tuesday night saying that the 6-year-old had died. No details were provided about the boy's condition and neither of the children's names was released.
Police also said a homicide investigation into the shooting was ongoing.
However, they did not have any information about any suspects in the case.
WMC reported that investigators found multiple homes in Kirby Mills Cove had been shot at on Monday night, with neighbors saying they took cover after hearing loud shots.
"I have a newborn. I have a one-year-old. Just think about that. We live over here and you are all shooting over here. Bullets don't have any names on them," Dynisty Boykins, who lives nearby, told the station.
The shooting came after a similar incident that killed a 10-year-old boy outside his home in Memphis.
WREG reported 10-year-old Jadon Knox was shot and killed while playing in the front yard of his home in the Orange Mound neighborhood on Sunday night.
Memphis Police have said the boy was shot by a man in a white Nissan Altima or Infiniti. No arrests have been made in that case.
Meanwhile, another person has died after a shooting in Memphis on Tuesday.
Officers responded to New Willow Road at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, police said. An unidentified male victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He later died of his injuries.
Police said the suspect in the shooting is a man, aged between 18 and 20, with a light complexion and dreadlocked hair in a mohawk. He was wearing a black hoodie and last seen running eastbound on New Willow Road.
