Texas Man Arrested After 15-Year-Old Girl 'Held Against Her Will'—Police

A 20-year-old Texas man has been arrested after allegedly holding a 15-year-old girl against her will while giving her drugs, police say.

Trevion Shields, of Houston, was apprehended by the Harris County Constable's Office Precinct One last Friday and charged with aggravated kidnapping. The teenager, who is not being named in reports, told investigators Shields was her "ex-boyfriend," KHOU 11 reported.

The girl disappeared on January 28 in the 8300 block of Westheimer Road. It is unclear whether there was any contact with relatives after that date.

At the time, a witness told contables they had seen the suspect take the teenager by the arm and force her to leave with him. Shields initially "targeted" her via social media, officers said in a media release yesterday.

The girl told police officers at a later stage the man "threatened to kill or hurt her family if she left him."

According to KHOU 11, which obtained court documents linked to the case, the teenager's mother alleged that Shields had previously harassed her daughter to the point the girl had been wearing an ankle monitor. The suspect is believed to have cut off the tracking device during a visit to a Target store, KHOU 11 reported.

Between January and November, the girl had tried to leave several times, she told investigators. She was allegedly held at a home located in the 7900 block of Westheimer Road.

According to the victim, the 20-year-old man would "physically block her exit and threaten to kill her and attack or even murder her family" if she attempted to leave, local law enforcement said Monday in a post published alongside footage of the suspect being taken into custody.

Police said the teenager did not have her own phone at the time and contacted authorities using the suspect's device when he wasn't looking. The 15-year-old victim said Shields repeatedly had sex with her and told investigators that he had gave her alcohol and drugs to "numb" her.

Shields was being held on a $100,000 bond. Officials said the alleged kidnapping victim is now recovering and will be provided with counseling and support services.

The suspect's mother, named Erica White, told KHOU 11 the teenager had told her son that she was older than 15-years-old and had asked to stay at the man's home to get away from her family members. "[My son is] falsely and wrongly accused of something he did not do," she said.
