Texas Substitute Teacher Fired For Allegedly Filming Porn On School Grounds

A Texas substitute teacher has been fired from her position after being accused of shooting porn on school grounds.

The videos were reportedly filmed in May, but the El Campo Independent School District said they were just informed of the videos last week via an anonymous tip and called the El Campo Police Department to investigate the situation, KTVT-TV said.

The teacher's name has not been released by the school district or the police, but the district did confirm to various media outlets that the woman had been employed for three months with the district. It is not known what grades or classes she instructed, but the videos were allegedly filmed at El Campo High School.

According to Click2Houston, the videos were allegedly filmed in a teacher workroom and at least one classroom on the school campus. In all of the videos reportedly recorded at the school, the teacher seemed to be alone and in a video where she was not, El Campo Police Chief Terry Stanphill said the video "clearly did not occur at the school, but rather in a home or bedroom setting," the Victoria Advocate said.
All the videos had reportedly been uploaded to a public porn website. No students or staff appear to have been involved with the videos.
While the El Campo police conducted an investigation, Stanphill told the Advocate that after consulting with the district attorney's office, the police could find no law that had been broken by the teacher.
"The reason that [the district attorney] did not find evidence was because the suspect had closed the door and had clothes on and was not reckless about their conduct so that someone else could see them or be offended by it," Stanphill told the newspaper.

The ECISD issued a statement regarding the incident, saying in part, "The District is aware that an improper criminal incident involving a substitute teacher occurred at ECHS. The incident involved a singular substitute teacher and no student or other district staff members were involved. The district has terminated the substitute's employment and is seeking legal advice on this specific incident. The district continues to hold the safety and well being of our students and staff as our top priority."
On Tuesday, the district school board superintendent told Click2Houston that ECISD still plans to press charges, though it is unclear what those charges could be. The district is also working to ban the former teacher from returning to the school."The district has taken steps to issue a criminal trespassing warning, which will protect all ECISD campuses. Our legal counsel is assisting us with reporting this situation to the Texas Education Agency, and we remain committed to the safety and security of our students," ECISD's statement said. The Texas Education Agency is responsible for vetting teachers employed by public school systems across the state.

Stanphill told Click2Houston that if the district doesn't want the teacher to come back to the campus, the police department will issue her a written notice to inform her that "if she goes back on school property, she'll be arrested."
