A man who entered a Texas home and allegedly attacked a woman was stopped by her 15-year-old son, who detained the intruder until police arrived.

Officials confirmed that officers received a call about a potential burglary-in-progress at a home in Robinson, McLennan County, Texas, at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. On arrival, officers found two visibly upset teenage siblings outside, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported. They told police their brother was inside holding a man who entered their mother's bedroom.

John Wayne Morris, 37, was arrested by first responders at the home and taken to McLennan County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of burglary with intent to commit sexual assault. An inmate listing at the facility confirmed that he was booked in on October 18.

Robinson Police chief, Phillip Prasifka, said police believed that Morris had entered the home using an unlocked door and had then jumped on the mother in her bedroom. The 15-year-old son pulled the suspect off his mother and restrained him while his siblings called for help.

"[The mother] said that Morris threatened her by telling her that he had someone watching her children and that they would kill them," Prasifka said, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.

"[She] stated that she was afraid to fight back because she was afraid that her children would be harmed," he added. The woman's name or age was not released.

Citing police chief Prasifka, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported last week that Morris was believed to live in the Robinson area but had no direct connection to the family or victim.

KWKTA (FOX 44) reported last Friday that Morris was not a registered sex offender. A family friend told the outlet that all three children had "worked together to subdue the suspect." The police chief confirmed that Morris did not have permission to enter the property.
