Watch 'Avengers: Endgame's Thanos Host 'Saturday Night Live,' Turn Half the Cast to Ash in Spec Script

Thanos, the Mad Titan, known for his comedic roles in films like Thirteen Going on Thanos!, Under the Titan Sun and "Hitch" exhibited why he's often called "the next Chris Kattan" when he hosted SNL in a viral spec script. The 26-page spoof script was written by comedy writer, Esquire video editor and self-identifying "Twitter user" Dominick Nero.

With all of Thanos's talent, it's shocking this is his first time hosting Saturday Night Live. Thanos infamously turned half of the universe to ash last summer in his blockbuster hit, Avengers: Infinity War. He went on SNL to promote his next film, Avengers: Endgame. In the film, he plays the lead role of "Thanos."

The episode begins quite typically, with a cold open featuring Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump. Thanos plays opposite Baldwin as President Andrew Jackson. While certainly an impressive display of Thanos' acting ability, he doesn't showcase his rarer talents until the opening monologue, where he shakes his rump and turns half of SNL's featured players and dancers into dust.

This would become a running theme of the show. Throughout the episode, Thanos displayed his superb acting chops and keen comedic timing by regularly turning SNL cast members to ash, including Weekend Update host Michael Che.

Thanos's Endgame co-stars, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth, also make an appearance during the show. It was truly a showing worthy of the supervillain's might.

The show later featured music fro the famed alt-rock band Hoobastank, who played their hits: "The Reason" and "Running Away." The latter performance also included Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst on vocals.

Thanos' appearance on the NBC variety show was promoted through a variety of assets, released in the weeks leading up to the show. Such as the iconic SNL post-it notes and the candid photos of the Mad Titan.

When: Thanos and Hoobastank appeared on SNL on Saturday during the sketch comedy show's fictitious time in our dreams.

Where: SNL airs on NBC each week.

Can it be live streamed: If you don't want to miss the mighty Thanos' SNL hosting debut but lack television access, you're in luck. Writer Dominic Nero has put the entire script from the Thanos hosted episode online.
