A video of a woman scoring a pair of designer boots for just $10 at a thrift store has gone viral on TikTok.

The clip was posted by @samstyledthat and has garnered more than 255,000 views since it was shared on February 8. Text overlaid on the video reads: “When the checkout lady at the thrift even recognizes a designer find & for $10?!”

The video shows a woman at a checkout counter purchasing a pair of leopard‑print boots, which the poster confirmed are from Michael Kors, the luxury fashion brand, in a later comment.

As the boots are rung up, the shop assistant at the counter is heard saying, “That is great,” while examining them. The woman responds, “Yeah, nine bucks. Can't beat it,” prompting the worker to reply, “Congratulations.”

The viral moment comes as second‑hand shopping continues to grow across the United States.

According to a 2025 report by Capital One Shopping, 93 percent of Americans shop online for second‑hand items.

The report also found that there are more than 25,000 resale, consignment and not‑for‑profit resale shops nationwide, with thrifters saving an average of $2,071 per year by purchasing second‑hand goods.

As of 2025, the U.S. second‑hand market is estimated to be worth $56 billion, and is projected to reach $61 billion in 2026, according to the report.

'Unreal'

The caption of the viral TikTok post reads: “Another designer thrift find for the books!”

In a later moment filmed outside the store, the woman addresses the camera and comments on the pricing of the boots. “She [the store worker] was so mad that that was priced at $9.99, you guys,” she says.

“I swear, you guys, leopard [prints] just finds me at this point,” she later adds. “They're cute. I like clocked them so quick, and I'm like I can tell that's real. She [the shop worker] clocked it so quick too. She looks like she rang it up, and she's like ‘who did that [priced it at] nine dollars?”

The video struck a chord with viewers on TikTok, many of whom expressed excitement and envy over the bargain find.

User @ashleighgreen30 commented: “Omg what a find giving shania Twain vibes xxx.”

Another viewer, Hallie, wrote: “She [the shop worker] was p***** lmao such a steal!!!”

Others focused on the boots themselves. User @iamimari3008 described them as “unreal,” while Sabria commented: “They're perfect!!!”

User @alinaalinaalina summed up her reaction in a single word—“Jealous!”—and Jolene Wright added: “OMG A GOOOD THRIFT DAY.”

Newsweek has contacted the original poster for comment via TikTok. This video has not been independently verified.
