"This morning before school started, there was a fight in the school cafeteria involving three students. Several administrators intervened and broke up the fight. We understand that video of the fight has been shared on social media, and we've received several calls checking on the welfare of our staff and students. All of our staff and students are OK," the letter sent to parents, obtained by Newsweek, read. "We are investigating the matter, and discipline will be rendered as detailed in our district disciplinary policy.

Although media reports state that the school employee was an assistant principal, it remains unclear the title of the school employee. Mehlville School District officials confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the incident did take place inside of the school and that the safety of the students is their top priority."

"I can tell you we take all incidents like this very seriously," director of communications Jessica Pupillo told the publication. "Student safety is our most important job."

Another video of children fighting at a school in Missouri also surfaced online on Tuesday. The video shows preschool children allegedly being made to fight one another while attending the Adventure Learning Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

The footage, which was obtained by local media outlet Q13 Fox dates back to December 2016. The video, which was taken on an iPad, shows one teacher jumping up and down with excitement while another teacher places a padded "Hulk fist" gloves on a child. The preschoolers can be seen hitting one another while a third child attempted to break up the fighting. One child in the video can be seen on the ground being hit repeatedly.
