Where Is Tamera Mowry? Tia Mowry Says Why Sister Won't Be in 'My Christmas Inn'

Fans of Sister, Sister have been waiting for the day an all-cast reunion would surface. Luckily their wish is about to come true—sort of.

Tia Mowry recruited her former Sister, Sister TV parents Jackée Harry and Tim Reid for her upcoming Lifetime starring and producing effort My Christmas Inn. Unfortunately, not all former cast members could make it. Sorry, but Tamera Mowry won't be participating in this mini-reunion.

"We tried so much with the Sister, Sister reunion but unfortunately there are things that I can't control and that my sister can't control," Mowry, 40, told Newsweek. "I kind of just put it on hold a little bit."

Mowry continued, "I am the producer of this Lifetime movie. I was like, 'OK. I know all these people out here, they want some sort of reunion. I'm going to make it happen.' So, I was like, 'Let's get Jackée Harry and Tim Reid to play my parents.'"

Directed by Peter Sullivan, My Christmas Inn follows Jen Taylor during the holiday season as she's about to receive a huge promotion at her ad agency job. Jen soon learns she's inherited an inn based in a small Alaskan town. This discovery ultimately proves to flip her world upside down, especially as she meets the town's attorney Brian Anderson (Rob Mayes).

Reuniting with Harry and Reid for the televised holiday feature proved to be a rewarding experience for Mowry. Before this, it had been over two decades since she had last worked with them together.

"That experience was incredible because I hadn't acted with them, like them two together, in over 25 years. I was so nervous," Mowry explained. "When I saw both of them together, it was like as if 20 years had not gone by. Now I see why this show lasted for six years and we did over 100 episodes. It was flowing. It was so incredible."

Mowry has no hard feelings over her twin's siblings absence. "My sister, she was doing The Real, which is also good too. So we're staying busy and doing what we love to do. That's kind of like the closest Sister, Sister you're going to get as of now," she said.

Sister, Sister aired from 1994 to 1999. The once popular show followed twins Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell, who were separated at birth, as they accidentally reconnect 14 years later. While a Sister, Sister revival was confirmed to be in development in January, fans of the family-friendly sitcom haven't seen the full cast on the silver screen together in years.

My Christmas Inn airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
