Tiger Woods Update: Golf Star's Crash Rehab Photo on Instagram Sparks Celebrations

Tiger Woods sparked a flurry of excitement online when the golf superstar posted to Instagram an image of himself wearing a leg brace and smiling while standing next to his dog in an update on his recovery two months on from a serious car crash.

The 45-year-old had to undergo surgery on his lower right leg, his foot, and his ankle following the high-speed accident in Los Angeles on February 23. When first responders arrived at the scene, he was unconscious, police said.

Investigators said he had been traveling between 84 and 87 mph in a 45 mph zone in the Rolling Hills Estates at the time of the crash. His vehicle, a 2021 Genesis SUV, crossed the road's center divider, hit a tree, and rolled over. No other vehicles were involved.

Following surgery, Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, CBS reported, and he has been recovering ever since with a much-reduced presence on social media.

However, his post on Instagram of a full-body photo with a walking boot protecting his right leg beneath his knee suggested he was on the mend.

"My course is coming along faster than I am," he wrote, "but it's nice to have a faithful rehab partner, man's best friend."

With a long path of recovery still ahead and question marks over his golfing future, many took to social media to share the image and express their support for the 15-time major winner who they hope to see back on the golf course soon.

Responding to the Instagram post which was liked more than 580,000 times by Saturday morning, the rapper Ja Rule wrote: "Get well champ!!"
