The Detroit Tigers employ arguably the best starting pitcher in baseball in Tarik Skubal, but the bullpen could still use some work.

The Tigers made a couple of key additions to their bullpen earlier this offseason, bringing back Kyle Finnegan and signing Kenley Jansen, but a team could never have too much pitching. Detroit's bullpen struggled with inconsistencies this season, ranking in the bottom half of the league with a bullpen ERA of 4.05.

Beyond the key additions to their bullpen this offseason, the Tigers could aim to sign a low-cost veteran reliever, with The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon reporting that the team could pursue former Toronto Blue Jays hurler Seranthony Domínguez.

"Dealing Skubal remains a possibility," Rosenthal and Sammon wrote Monday. "Beyond that, the Tigers could look to make another bullpen addition. Detroit has already invested in the unit, re-signing Kyle Finnegan to a two-year, $19 million deal and signing Kenley Jansen to a one-year, $9 million pact.

"The Tigers also feature Will Vest as a high-leverage option, but there’s room for another right-hander. Either free agent right-hander Seranthony Domínguez or Tyler Kinley would help."

The Blue Jays traded the Baltimore Orioles for Domínguez before the trade deadline this season, and the veteran reliever excelled in Toronto. The 31-year-old posted a 3.00 ERA in 24 appearances with the Blue Jays, but his short stint in Toronto may be over with all of the additions the team made this offseason.

Domínguez is projected to sign a three-year contract worth roughly $32 million, according to Spotrac, and would be a great addition for the Tigers this offseason.
