TikTok Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Lookalike Couple: 'Things Have Escalated'

A woman and her husband have gone viral for their uncanny resemblance to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, as the legal battle between the former married couple continues this week.

Alexandra Cunningham hosts the This Family Tree Podcast with her husband Shane Cunningham, and they bear an eerie resemblance to Heard and Depp, whose ongoing court proceedings have dominated headlines and news cycles for weeks.

The Cunninghams are aware of who their doppelgangers are and have made a TikTok poking fun at the situation, highlighting how Depp's popularity has soared on social media in recent weeks, while Heard has been facing scrutiny and a backlash.

"People have told me I look like Amber Heard before but ever since this trial started, things have escalated," Alexandra Cunningham said in a TikTok that had clocked up 2.1 million views at the time of writing.

In the skit, Alexandra Cunningham walks out of her front door looking like Heard, only to get fruit thrown at her amid jeering of "you suck Amber!"

Her husband, meanwhile, wearing a very Depp-esque outfit, walks out the door to cheers and shouts of adoration.

"We love you Johnny!" a fake onlooker shouts, adding: "Everything you say is perfect!"

Shane Cunningham proceeds to do a Depp impression complete with a mega pint of wine, saying: "Oh I'm not him but... salutations."

Fans of the couple have been commenting on the post, with others suggesting they look like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee as well as Blake Lively and Tom Cruise.

Newsweek has reached out to the Cunninghams for comment.

The trial of Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard is finally due to end this week.

Depp sued his ex-wife for $50 million for loss of earnings after she wrote a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post stating that she is a survivor of domestic abuse. Meanwhile, Heard has countersued for $100 million for nuisance.

The trial has dominated discussions on social media over the past month and hundreds of clips from the proceedings have gone viral as millions of people tune in every day to watch the live stream from the Circuit Court in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Judge Penney Azcarate has stated that this will be the final week of testimony, with closing arguments expected to take place on Friday, May 27, and there is currently no deadline imposed on a verdict.

The jury will be sent away to deliberate after they've heard the closing arguments.
