The popularity of Olivia Rodrigo's latest single "Good 4 U," has sparked a wave of viral remixes on TikTok, spanning from 2000s pop punk to Taylor Swift.
Olivia Rodrigo's place as Gen Z's pop princess has been cemented by the release of her debut album SOUR, which has been a trending topic across social media platforms since its May 21 release date.
Good 4 U is the third single released from the album, and after dropping on May 14, has just topped the Billboard Hot 100. The charting comes as no surprise to anyone who regularly uses TikTok, with the song becoming subject to countless remixes with other hits.
The music video for Good 4 U features scenes straight out of 2009 film Jennifer's Body, but it isn't the only clear inspiration for the track. Fans of the song took to TikTok after its release to report the similarities in the choruses of "Good 4 U" and Paramore's 2007 single "Misery Business."
Musician Adam Wright's mashup of the two songs highlighted the Paramore sampling used by Rodrigo in "Good 4 U," and amassed over 600,000 likes. After sharing the full remix to his YouTube channel, the video also has over 300,000 views there too. Wright's mash up may be one of the most popular on TikTok, but it certainly isn't the only one.
Various users of the app have put their own spin on the remix, kick-starting it into it's own trend. TikTok user Nikjaay also racked up 120,000 views on his transition between the two songs.
"This sound has given me a new life," wrote one TikTok viewer of the remix.

The trend didn't stop there either, with a whole cycle of Good 4 U remixes continuing to come from TikTok. With Rodrigo being dubbed the next Taylor Swift by some, and even helping to promote Swift's re-recorded album, it comes as no surprise that people have been eager to blend the pair's music together.
TikTok and "DJ in training," Natalie Gurevich went viral with her mashup of Good 4 U and Taylor Swift's "I Did Something Bad" on May 14. With over 100,000 likes, the on-screen text reads: "Listening to Olivia Rodrigo's new song when...started to realize it reminded me of another song...so i made a few edits and oh my god."
Just two days ago, May 25, Michal Courson remixed "Good 4 U" with "Wildest Dreams" by Taylor Swift, after another TikTok user made a video theorising what it could sound like. Courson did exactly that and blended the two songs with another, gaining over 1.8 million likes since.
The "Good 4 U" remix phenomenon isn't the first sign of adoration for Rodrigo from TikTok either. In January, Rodrigo's pop debut "Driver's License" sparked a viral transition on the app, seeing users falling back onto their beds as the final verse starts.
"Good 4 U" has only continued to prove TikTok's belief in Olivia Rodrigo supremacy.
