The star power at the TIME 100 gala this week rivaled the Academy Awards, with luminaries from the worlds of film and television, art, politics, sports, science and more gathering to celebrate the magazine's annual list of the world's most influential people.

And the red carpet at Jazz at Lincoln Center was just as glamorous as the Oscars, with Taylor Swift, Glenn Close, Brie Larson, Sandra Oh, Khalid, Naomi Campbell and Game of Thrones' stars Emilia Clarke and Richard Madden all setting off flashbulbs. "I see Emilia all the time so it's not too big a deal to reunite," Madden told TIME.

In addition to Hollywood celebs, though, the event drew politicians like Speaker Nancy Pelosi and activists including Yemeni human rights defender Radhya Al-Mutawakel, Planned Parenthood director Leana Wen, trans advocate Janet Mock and #MeToo founder Tarana Burke.

"Tonight, we honor artists and icons, pioneers and leaders, people who shaped the year and changed the year, people who stood up and stood out," TIME CEO and Editor-in-Chief Edward Felsenthal told the audience. "We also honor the power of individuals to bring others together. To move their fellow citizens to action."
