The Spring Creek Fire, which has been burning for a little over a week, has destroyed more than 130 homes in Colorado.
The Spring Creek fire near Fort Garland quickly expanded to become the largest wildfire burning in Colorado.
The fire was measured at 34,184 acres.
Remnants of Hurricane Bud delivered a much needed rain shower to the fire area and is expected to drop a total of one-half to one inch of rain.
Officials announced Wednesday that the fire is just 15 percent contained.
The 416 wildfire outside of Durango, Colorado has grown 40 percent.
