9/11 Anniversary

The latest on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. In 2001, four commercial airplanes were hijacked by the terrorist group Al-Qaeda. Two of the planes crashed into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, another crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.), and the final plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to stop the hijackers from hitting their intended target of Washington, D.C. Nearly 3,000 died as a result of the terrorist attack and more than 25,000 were injured. It is the single deadliest terrorist attack in recorded history.

End the 'War on Terror'

Governments have a responsibility to protect the public from the likes of the Islamic State, but outside situations of active armed conflict, law-enforcement rules should suffice.
