"The border is very dynamic," Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told a House panel. "There are different needs and challenges at different parts of the border."

The Democratic lawmaker previously said that he "fought back tears" after talking to a migrant child held in a Texas facility.
"We have a short-term plan, a medium-term plan, and a long-term plan," Biden's secretary of homeland security explained.
A 2019 poll found that over 50 percent of non-white military service members had personally witnessed examples of white nationalism or ideological-driven racism within the ranks.
Border Patrol agents are being overwhelmed by the influx of migrant youths at the southern border.
On Monday, a number of Republicans traveled to the border to tour several border facilities. During their tour, several criticized Biden's border policies, with House Leader Kevin McCarthy saying that the situation is "more than a crisis. This is a human heartbreak."
"We are expelling most single adults and families," Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said.
The administration's messaging on the reopened facilities began with what many Democrats and immigration activists characterized as a misfire.
The Missouri Republican has voted "nay" for all six of Biden's Cabinet nominees who have come up for a Senate confirmation vote.
