"The trunk door of his vehicle was open and I noticed multiple iguanas laying in his trunk tied around their legs and bodies with duct tape," the officer said.

"The National Park Service has a responsibility to protect and preserve these beautiful animals. The idea that depriving them of food and water somehow fulfills that responsibility isn't just absurd, it's undeniably inhumane," Kate Barnekow, the organization's attorney, said.

The annual Lychee and Dog Meat Festival is now underway in Yulin, China. Every year, thousands of dogs are killed to be eaten at the event.

Approximately 80 severed bear paws were discovered in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

In the video, the man can be seen placing a small cardboard box on the counter before slamming his palm onto the box and continuing to pummel the animal with his foot on the floor.

According to court documents and media records, the injuries allegedly inflicted included broken teeth, bloodied toes, cut tails, and broken bones.

A $1,500 reward is on offer to find the culprit after the creature was found bound up with duct tape in Seminole County.

The El Paso Police Department said it was investigating the incident as a case of animal cruelty.

A man from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was arrested Saturday evening for killing a dog after shooting it multiple times. He was later released on $60,000 bond.

"This act is illegal on a number of accounts," non-profit organization White Shark Conservation Trust said.

"You eat murdered animals, you will never be like us — we are vegans and love animals," the couple is said to have told the inspector as the puppies were seized.
