Bear Attacks

The man had shot the bear on Tuesday night, after it harassed his chickens, and again on Wednesday morning, after which the bear attacked him.

New Mexico Game and Fish authorities were called out to capture the bear, but it disappeared before they found it.

The bear who mauled a woman at her New Castle home has been killed by local police, along with one of her three cubs.

Officials said the victim "did everything right" and that they are thankful he's recovering from the encounter.

Dustin Tolley and Adam Buckles recorded a black bear struggling to pull a deer up a hill at the side of Lake Watauga, where they were fishing.

Sadly, the mother black bear had to be euthanized by wildlife officials following the incident with the resident.

The bear was "likely aggravated" by the couple's dog, which wasn't on a leash at the time and was barking at the animal, park officials said.

The park explained that there are currently no plans to locate the grizzly bear, saying that "there is no indication that this bear is unusually dangerous."

Powell County Sheriff Gavin Roselles said the bear wandered into the victim's campsite a couple of times before the mauling occurred.

Allen Minish, 61, had been inputting data to his GPS during a real estate surveying trip when the bear attacked.

"I thought I can't let my dog get taken like that," said Rev. Tim Stradling.

Onlookers watched in horror from the chairlift above, attempting to warn the man of the danger on a slope in Predeal, Romania.

Wildlife officials later found the female bear and euthanized the animal, taking her two cubs into their possesion.

"If that bear would have gotten in the house, it probably would have been all over for us," Sid Lebarron said.

The bear charged at the child in "a predatory manner," state officials said.

"Once she grabbed me it was like a car wreck it happened so quick," the hunter Ronnie Dalton said.

A bear was spotted suddenly climbing onto the trunk of car on a roadway heading to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

The guard "was attacked by a polar bear and injured on his head," the cuise ship operator said.

New Hampshire authorities received a call at 1:15 a.m., after the bear had swiped at a local woman's face in her own home.
