Aldrin was one of the first two humans to walk on the lunar surface.
Aldrin, alongside fellow Apollo 11 crew member Neil Armstrong, touched down on the lunar surface at 8:17 p.m. UTC on July 20, 1969.
The building was constructed as a facility to quarantine astronauts and the material they brought back from the moon during the Apollo program.
"Any attempt to make moon rocks in a laboratory would be a monumental failure," said space rock expert Trevor Taylor.
"Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace."
NASA is hosting a variety of events which will be televised on the space agency's own TV channel to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.
The former NASA astronaut has told of a conversation he had with the renowned scientist.
Michael Collins was a crew member of the historic Apollo 11 mission, alongside Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
Snoopy was part of the 1969 Apollo 10 Mission that laid the groundwork for the first moon landings.
"Mars is waiting to be discovered, not by clever robots and rovers, but by living, breathing, walking, talking, caring and daring men and women," the ex-astronaut wrote.
The moon-walkers were carrying messages of peace from all over the globe.
The decision to omit the scene drew criticism, but astronaut Neil Armstrong's sons said the film is anything but anti-American.
