Eyewitnesses said the bear was wandering around and eating from birdfeeders. It has now been taken to a rehabilitation center.
Authorities were working to confirm the details of the crash.
The fire was measured at 34,184 acres.
Remnants of Hurricane Bud delivered a much needed rain shower to the fire area and is expected to drop a total of one-half to one inch of rain.
Officials announced Wednesday that the fire is just 15 percent contained.
The fire started in the right of way of Highway 550 on Friday morning and made its way into the San Juan National Forest.
The Friday-morning fire had already spread across some 100 acres.
