The discovery of human skeletal remains at Lake Mead's Callville Bay comes only days after a body was found in a barrel at the lake's Hemenway Harbor.
"My husband heard a woman scream and then he went to look and found the body in a very deteriorated 50-gallon drum," a witness said about the gruesome find.
The suspect, Lumpkin, is alleged to have told police he buried a body at the home of an elderly couple in Florida.
Residents were stunned to learn that human remains had been found on the trails of the popular Indiana park.
"In this case, the bees are our new partners in crime fighting, and that's amazing science," said Mary Ellen O'Toole, the head of the Forensic Science Program.
The body discovered in Ohioville was in an "extreme state of decomposition," according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said it took several days to carry out the autopsy as they waited for the human remains to thaw out.
Hardin is already facing 37 counts including racketeering, tampering with records, identity fraud, operating an unlicensed funeral home and abuse of a corpse.
After Felicia Cox's brother-in-law admitted to killing her in 2007 shortly before his execution, authorities confirmed the remains found were hers through DNA.
The remains found in Twinsburg, Ohio in 1982 were recently identified by local authorities as Frank Little, who had been missing for over 40 years.
Police do not believe the remains are historical and are treating the site as a crime scene.
The body was found in a closet inside the apartment, according to Alabama police.
The state Medical Examiner's Office is not allowed to place nearly 250 remains in a final resting place based on current state law.
The three siblings discovered in the apartment with the remains were alive but apparently abandoned, according to officials.
The school district has since instructed its principals to inspect their campuses for any similar findings.
Investigators were searching for the missing body parts, which also included parts of the torso.
"We weren't necessarily looking for him, and he wasn't a person that was really on our radar," said park spokeswoman Joelle Baird.
The remains were reportedly found in a remote location away from any trails and appeared to have been there for some time, the National Park Service said.
Police had urged the public to reach out with information to help identify the woman, as she or someone else may require medical attention due to the incident.
"Faced with a rapidly deteriorating security situation...the C-17 crew decided to depart the airfield as quickly as possible," the Air Force's statement said.
The tenant theorized on TikTok that the bones may have fallen down from his "creepy" crawl space in the loft.
Matthew Lewinski, 37, is alleged to have murdered and mutilated his live-in girlfriend, Jerri Winters, in their Clinton Township, Michigan, home.
Two of the children may have been infant twins who died during or shortly after childbirth, Johan Runer, who oversaw the dig, said.
Kayaker Pete Ruopp, who found the container on Monday, said that the discovery "really freaked" him out.
The grisly discovery was made in a grassy area along a road, about 25 miles southeast of Atlanta, Georgia.
Assistant Scout Master Andy Waltrip said the children were not initially "freaked out" by the discovery, thinking they had found "chicken bones."
"At first I thought it was a Halloween prop. My reaction was to throw it away. It looked like a rolling pin. But then I called the police," Haider Khan, 23, said.
Brenda Venables was reported missing from the home she shared with her husband David Venables in May 1982.
