A360 Media paid Karen McDougal $150,000 in August 2016 for her story about an alleged affair with former President Donald Trump, which the National Enquirer did not publish.
Karen McDougal's lawyer, Eric Bernstein, filed the lawsuit in December 2019 alleging the TV show host defamed McDougal during a segment that aired on the channel one year earlier.
The head of American Media Incorporated, David Pecker, was questioned by federal prosecutors about hush money payments made to women who allegedly had affairs with Donald Trump before he was elected president.
"The felony crime is a serious one," Joyce Vance said. "Most significantly is the threat there is jail time involved."
"I will not be the villain of his story," Michael Cohen told George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "Good Morning America."
"If he was prepared to do the right thing and come clean and basically turn state's evidence, I would absolutely consider it," Avenatti said of representing Cohen.
"I know for a fact that this is not the only tape," Avenatti said after it emerged that Cohen had recorded Trump discussing a payment to an ex-Playboy model.
"I wouldn't be the man I am today without her by my side," Trump stated in his campaign email.
"I'm confident that the documents that have been obtained by the FBI, in connection with these raids, are going to show a lot of women," Avenatti said.
