Nearly 700 have been arrested in protests in the Ecuadorian capital as President Lenin Moreno tries to quell the violence.
Ecuadorian President Lenín Moreno reportedly described Julian Assange as a "brat" after withdrawing the WikiLeaks founder's asylum status.
"The hand of 'democracy' squeezes the throat of freedom," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova wrote on Facebook.
Ecuadorean officials are reportedly working with Britain to find a "legal solution" to evict Assange from the embassy in London.
Speculation has mounted since last month that Assange's time at the embassy was coming to an end.
The opposition candidate Guillermo Lasso was ahead in the exit poll but Lenin Moreno is claiming victory.
Lenin Moreno is expected to extend government rule by winning Sunday's run-off vote against Guillermo Lasso.
