A 42-year old U.S. citizen was attacked on Friday when an unidentified white male threw battery acid on his face because he thought the Hispanic man was here illegally.

"Watch out when you take the garbage out, no telling what's lurking out there!" one local resident said after the gator was found on the the 3900 block of North Sherman Boulevard last week.

The father and daughter were treated for their injuries in hospital following the shooting.
