The far-right group who deny they are white supremacists give tribute to QAnon supporter killed during January 6.

Tarrio is accused of setting fire to a Black Lives Matter flag and possessing high-capacity firearm magazines with the Proud Boys logo on them.

"The ProudBoys will turn out in record numbers on Jan 6th but this time with a twist," Tarrio said in a statement. "We will be incognito and we will spread across downtown DC in smaller teams."

ShutDownDC posted the tweet after they protested outside the home of Senator Josh Hawley over his plans to challenge the results of the Electoral College.

Officials in Washington are taking a number of steps in a bid to control any potential far-right unrest this week.

Activists intended to rally outside a hotel where members of the Proud Boys and other far-right groups are reportedly staying ahead of pro-Trump demonstrations Wednesday. But organizers canceled the event after receiving threats.

"If al Qaeda or Iran undertakes an attack, even if the Russians nuke us, we'll be ready," a senior military officer says sardonically. "But if there's a domestic breakdown, I'm not so sure."

Authorities declared the protests an unlawful assembly and ordered protesters to disperse on New Year's Day.
