"We are going to stand for the men and women who are serving us. We are going to protect Florida jobs," the Florida governor said.
"We are not going to let people be fired because of a vaccine mandate," DeSantis said outside Gainesville, which could face millions in cumulative penalties.
The Republican Florida governor took aim at President Joe Biden in recent remarks, in which he highlighted COVID-19 case numbers.
The way Florida currently reports COVID deaths "hides the reality of what people are facing," said a former Palm Beach County health department director.
"With a stay in place, students, parents and teachers are back in harm's way," attorney Charles Gallagher said in a tweet.
The president has unveiled a six-point COVID strategy to combat what he describes as a "pandemic of the unvaccinated."
"If these governors won't help," Biden said, "I'll use my powers as president to get them out of the way."
The judge said he sees only two ways of protecting school children too young to get the vaccine from COVID: They can "either stay at home or mask."
The Florida governor tried to dispel rumors that he is looking to get on the GOP ticket for a 2024 White House run.
"I am for a woman's right to choose. I am also for a state having the ability to make their own laws, and so I support Texas in that decision," Jenner said.
National housing experts believe the landlord is the first on a large-scale level to implement such a requirement for tenants.
Biden's approval rating is also underwater, with 51 percent of Americans disapproving of the president.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned against using the drug as a way to treat or prevent COVID.
For the week of August 27, there are currently 129,240 new cases which are 20,000 fewer than previous weeks, with the exception of a decrease of 1200 cases on August 13.
"My philosophy is, as a governor, my job is to protect your individual freedom," DeSantis said during a press conference Friday.
The PAC Friends of Ron DeSantis saw an increase of about $900,000 in contributions in August from July.
The seven-day average in daily deaths for August was 244 according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Thursday's appeal comes after Leon County Circuit Judge John C. Cooper ruled in favor of the school districts which gave Florida's 67 school boards the power to enforce a student mask mandate without parental approval.
Florida's COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths have reached their highest levels since the pandemic began.
"He's not going to change no matter what the death toll is," said Manny Ruiz, the CEO of Brilla Media, a self-described former "Reagan Republican," now an independent. "The morgue would have to be overflowing for him to capitulate."
"The forms were pre-signed, there was a stack behind the counter and they were just passed out," Paulina Testerman said.
"Their speech is chilled because they don't know if they will be arrested for peacefully protesting," attorney Max Gaston said.
DeSantis said school districts can institute mask requirements, but parents must be able to opt their child out of it.
Florida's hospitals and doctors have pointed out that upward of 90 percent of their patients have been unvaccinated.
"That kind of politicization... there's no place for that when you're dealing with a public health crisis," Fauci told CNN on Sunday.
