Beijing's focus on the moon has sparked talk of a new space race with the U.S.

In response to a U.S. Department of Defense report, China has said the U.S. "defined space as a war-fighting domain."

According to the report, the U.S. must take measures to win a new space race with China, both back to the Moon and eventually to Mars.
