The Associated Press has released a new report discussing the large amounts of explosives missing from the U.S. military.
Police say they found 2,333 stolen items totaling around $330,000 in the woman's home, which was "packed wall to wall in every room" with bags.
A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police said that while the owners reported the incident as a burglary, police found "no evidence of forced entry."
Kevin Nishita, a former police officer, earned an award commending his "high moral character" in 2018.
The incident comes after Best Buy said this week that organized theft has been impacting its bottom line.
Many of the reported thefts have involved dozens of people who broke into stores and stole items while traveling in groups.
The store's owners said they "cannot operate as a business at the moment" on a GoFundMe page launched after the break-in.
Retailers have seen an increased amount of thefts, with several smash-and-grabs just in the past week. Companies like Best Buy say it's affecting their profits.
The family of Blake Alexander Wade Elom, who died in a car crash last year have been left distraught.
A rash of brazen robberies have occurred in the area, all committed by groups of thieves. One group was said to have up to 80 people, according to a witness.
The looters arrived in over two dozen cars in the latest example of brazen crime in the Bay Area.
"I was blown away...it's insane," one employee of the business said after the destructive theft.
Three of the nation's top 10 cities for organized retail theft are located in California, with San Fransisco ranking fifth on the list.
On Tuesday, 60-year-old Robin Calef pleaded guilty to one count of theft of government funds for stealing $102,289.62 in government funds that were meant for her deceased sister, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts.
The suspects did not ransack the residence and went straight to where valuables were kept, authorities said.
"If he opened her car door and grab her property he should be arrested," one commenter said of the incident.
Police are unsure if the thieves knew what they were stealing.
Less than two months ago, police also arrested him for allegedly stealing a donation jar from a sandwich shop that was raising money for a sick co-worker.
Boise resident Mary Alyce Scarbrough was said to have been suffering from a mental health crisis during the shooting.
A man changed into a "Talladega Nights" Ricky Bobby racing-suit that he had stolen from a residence in Oregon and emerged from the home with a bicycle.
Up to 20 vehicles were reportedly damaged by the chase and several people have come forward with minor injuries.
Nancy Kay Shedleski, 69, collected over $120,000 in Social Security retirement benefits between August 2015 and December 2019, according to a complaint.
According to a translation from India TV, the note read: "Why was [the] house locked when there was no money, collector."
Walgreens has been the victim of some instances of theft over the past few years, forcing them to close stores and transfer prescriptions to new places.
"I am committed to pursuing justice for Deputy Ruiz to the fullest extent of the law against the suspect," Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone said.
The group is accused of stealing more than $950,000 "in motor vehicles, firearms, tools.. and other items to maintain their lifestyles."
The store owner is considering offering a reward to individuals who have information about the identities of the alleged suspects.
The woman allegedly provided a man with gloves or a scarf so he could take a laptop from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office without leaving fingerprints.
The three suspects allegedly ran a multi-functional cable theft scheme between March 2016 and November 2019.
