Senator Raphael Warnock is hoping for another runoff win, but this year, he'll have to use a different playbook to fend off a Republican challenge.

The midterms next month could prove to be a decisive election cycle for Democrats and Republicans hoping to control Congress.

A Newsweek analysis found that there are 18,080 fewer registered Democratic voters in two swing counties, compared to figures from 2020.

The number of newly registered Republicans in Florida also outpaced the number of nonpartisan registrants by more than 150,000.

More than nine times more Republicans than Democrats were added to the voter rolls between Pennsylvania's May 17 primary and August 29.

The number of women registering to vote has outpaced men by double-digit percentages in the months since Roe v. Wade was overturned.

Georgia's secretary of state is investigating the allegations and has called upon the Department of Justice to do the same.

"She's more interested in grandstanding and pandering rather than strengthening the security of our elections," spokesman Gustavo Portela said.

"I believe I can reach people who are outside the system more effectively. I feel more...independent," he wrote.

"Making sure Georgia's voter rolls are up to date is key to ensuring the integrity of our elections," Raffensperger said in the press release.

"These voters will remain inactive until they return the mailing, update their registration or participate in any election," the Iowa secretary of state's office said.

A new report calling for sweeping restrictions on voting was approved by the Georgia Republican Party's Executive Committee this week.

A number of Republicans in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida and Iowa changed their party registrations in the days following last week's storming of the U.S. Capitol.

Ballots cast in these states will ultimately determine which candidate claims the White House. All four saw increases in their numbers of registered voters ahead of the election.

"Access to the ballot box is a priority for us, I know it's a hard concept for republican to understand," Omar said after Hannity criticized her for encouraging Minnesotans to use the state's same-day voter registration.

Voter turnout in swing states is likely to be crucial in determining the winner of the 2020 presidential election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Virginians seeking to register to vote in the upcoming election have been advised to print out and complete a paper application in the interim.

As of October 7, there have been at least 5,618,155 ballots casted, according to data complied by the U.S. Elections Project, which is run by University of Florida political science professor Michael McDonald.

An error in the final stages of digital processing caused forms with incorrect names, addresses and dates of birth to be inadvertently mailed out to roughly 11,000 voters in North Carolina.

Some states offer same-day registration and voting.

Florida residents who want to vote in November's election had until 12 a.m. Tuesday to register.

The website's non-functioning is especially important considering Florida's role as an influential battleground swing state in presidential elections.

Residents can still register online to vote in nine of the 12 states through the end of Monday, October 5.

In a post to her Instagram story, Swift linked fans to resources available for them to vote in November.

"The steep decline in new registrations may prove to be a sizable obstacle to what was set, pre-pandemic, to be a record election for turnout," the report showed.
