Toyota Refreshes RAV4 for 2022 With New Styling, Trim Level

In conjunction with the the 25th anniversary of the RAV4, Toyota has given the hot-selling SUV a mid-generation refresh for the 2022 model year. The company has made exterior and interior changes across the trim line and is adding a new SE Hybrid trim level.
The 2022 Toyota RAV4 SE Hybrid will slot in under the XSE trim, which is the highest-priced version of the RAV4 Hybrid, but be priced far lower than that grade.
In a press release, the company bills the new version of the RAV4 as the option for customers seeking the "sporty performance and sporty style" of the XSE trim but at a lower price.
The 2022 RAV4 Hybrid is available in LE, XLE, XLE Premium, XSE and Limited trim levels. The gas-powered RAV4 comes in LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, Limited and TRD Off-Road models.
The RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is available in SE and XSE trims.
Changes have been made across the lineup for the RAV4 for 2022 that carry over onto the new model. For the new model year, the RAV4 XSE gets the an available Cavalry Blue exterior paint job with a black roof. Calvary Blue will also be made available on the TRD Off-Road and SE Hybrid trims.
New LED fog lamps are outfitted on the RAV4 XLE Premium, Limited, Adventure and TRD Off-Road models.
Vertical lights that debuted on the 2021 RAV4 XSE Prime will be available on the XSE Hybrid.
The RAV4 LE Hybrid, XLE Hybrid and gas models will have new silver wheel finish options. RAV4 Adventure's wheels will now come in matte gray.
































Model year 2022 Toyota RAV4s come equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission that nets 203 horsepower.
The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will run on the combined output of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with two electric motors to produce 219 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. A similar setup on the RAV4 Prime is paired with a battery and tuned to generate 302 horsepower.
Upgrades to several points of the interior are coming for multiple trims. A locking glove box and LED interior lamps will be outfitted across the entire lineup.
RAV4 XLE trims and above will get illuminated interior switches.
An 8-way power passenger seat will be added to the Limited trim.
A new inclement weather package affords a driver a heated leather steering wheel, heated front seats and rain-sensing windshield wipers that come with a de-icing function.
The available convenience package adds a moonroof, a hight-adjustable power liftgate and Audio Plus, which features a new 9-inch infotainment screen.
All RAV4 models come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of safety features that includes lane departure alert, lane keep assist and automatic high beams as standard. On higher trims, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert and braking are reserved for the higher trims.
Front and rear parking assist with automatic braking is optional.
Toyota plans to release pricing details for the 2022 model year in mid-December.
