The version of The Trip to Greece available to watch online in the U.S. is the 100-minute feature film version. In other countries, particularly the U.K., all editions of The Trip franchise aired as a six-part TV shows. In Britain, this can be watched on NowTV, as can the previous series in the franchise, The Trip To Spain.

In the U.S., meanwhile, the three previous movies in the franchise (2011's The Trip, 2014's The Trip to Italy and 2017's The Trip to Spain) are all streaming on digital entertainment stores at around $2.99 - $3.99. In the U.K., the first two Trip series are available to purchase on Amazon, and are available to stream on BritBox. The U.S. version of BritBox, meanwhile, does not currently have any of The Trip movies/series.

As for what fans can expect of the new movie The Trip to Greece, the movie currently has a score of 67 on Metacritic and an 89 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though its critics consensus is more mixed. It reads: "The Trip to Greece sees this series subject to the laws of diminishing returns, but Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan remain reliably enjoying company."

The IFC Films summary for The Trip to Greece reads: "When Odysseus left Troy it took him ten years to get back to his home in Ithaca. Steve and Rob have only six days on their own personal odyssey in The Trip to Greece. On the way they argue about tragedy and comedy, astronomy and biology, myth, history, democracy and the meaning of life!"

Director Michael Winterbottom has confirmed that their Greece trip will be Coogan and Brydon's last. Asked why now was the time to end the franchise, Coogan told Variety: "To avoid jumping the shark. We eked it out by making jokes about it becoming tired and repetitive, but even that joke can become tired and repetitive. It's the old showbiz adage of leave them wanting more, not leave them wanting less."
