Trump Calls Fox News' Juan Williams 'Pathetic': He's 'Always Nasty and Wrong!'

President Donald Trump lashed out at Fox News analyst Juan Wiliiams this weekend, calling him "pathetic," "always nasty and wrong" in a tweet.

"Juan Williams at @FoxNews is so pathetic, and yet when he met me in the Fox Building lobby, he couldn't have been nicer as he asked me to take a picture of him and me for his family. Yet he is always nasty and wrong!" the president tweeted on Sunday afternoon.

Trump's remarks came roughly an hour after Williams, a journalist and political analyst for Fox News, criticized the president during a re-aired segment on Fox News Sunday at around 2 p.m. ET. "I think Trump's brutish approach is the problem," Williams said on the show while discussing America's ongoing trade war with China.

"It's not just Democrats who say, 'Hey, this guy is inartful.' The Wall Street Journal has said that — he then attacked The Wall Street Journal at a rally this week," he continued. "But I think that what you see here is that Trump's unpredictability, Dana, then risks global recession, and you can do that."

Williams added: "I mean, clearly, unpredictability is something that really scares Wall Street, because it depresses the likelihood of capital investment, which is necessary for stock growth."

Fox News did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment.

Although Trump favors Fox News and shares a friendship with several of the network's biggest personalities, the president has lashed out at some of the cable news channel's hosts and reporters in recent months over their coverage of 2020 Democratic candidates, among other things. "Watching Fake News CNN is better than watching Shepard Smith, the lowest rated show on @FoxNews. Actually, whenever possible, I turn to @OANN!" the president tweeted on August 8.

Williams has previously criticized Trump on numerous occasions during various Fox News segments. Late last month, the political analyst sparred with other hosts of Fox News' The Five over whether the president is a racist. "Let me tell you, it's a fact [that Trump is racist]. It's a fact. It is a fact," Williams said.

"But he's not!" host Brian Kilmeade responded, as his co-cost Greg Gutfeld shouted: "IT'S AN OPINION! ... THAT'S AN OPINION! That's an opinion, Juan!"

"Not only is it a fact, most Americans, 51 percent of Americans in a Quinnipiac poll..." Williams continued, apparently attempting to reference a Quinnipiac poll which found that 51 percent of Americans believed Trump is "racist." "They don't say that about John McCain, Mitt Romney, Bob Dole, Jack Kemp."

"You just cited a poll as a fact!" Gutfeld protested.
