'Trump' Posts Craigslist Ad for New Lawyer as Legal Team Dwindles

An anonymous Craigslist user appeared Tuesday to pose as President Donald Trump when posting an ad titled "Seeking Lead Attorney For Difficult Client" that used the White House's official mailing address. The post stressed the prospective lawyer would need to be "familiar with laws and procedures around discovery, executive privilege, international financing of licensed real estate, election law and the Logan Act "

It also poked fun at Trump's frequent use of social media, and his penchant for hiring attractive-looking people. "Working knowledge of social media, especially Twitter is a plus, as is a better than average knowledge of the adult film industry and a collection of Playboy magazines from 1985-2010. Must look the part - Gregory Peck or Tommy Lee Jones type. Prior appearances on Fox News a huge plus," the ad read.

It continued: "No fatties." (The president, who is overweight, has occasionally made fun of other people's weight.)

The user mentioned Trump's potential meeting with the special counsel investigating Russia's meddling in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign's possible collusion with Russia.

"Must be prepared to work with a client who is very forceful and opinionated about his defense and is his own best counsel," the ad said. "Basically your job boils down to keeping him from testifying under oath and hoping the rest comes out in the wash."

Trump's personal legal team dwindled down to one person last week. Attorney John Dowd announced he was leaving Thursday. Dowd reportedly thought Trump should not sit down with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team for an interview, but the president has said he would be "happy" to meet with Mueller's investigators.

Former U.S. attorney Joesph diGenova and his wife and fellow attorney Victoria Toensing were originally announced last week as the newest members to the team, but Trump opted not to hire them due to apparent conflicts of interest, according to The New York Times. That leaves Jay Sekulow as Trump's sole personal attorney.

The president has detailed his legal problems on Twitter, his favorite social media platform.

"Many lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the Russia case...don't believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on. Fame & fortune will NEVER be turned down by a lawyer, though some are conflicted. Problem is that a new......," Trump tweeted Sunday. "....lawyer or law firm will take months to get up to speed (if for no other reason than they can bill more), which is unfair to our great country - and I am very happy with my existing team. Besides, there was NO COLLUSION with Russia, except by Crooked Hillary and the Dems!"
