Trump Returns to His Golf Club for Second Time After Defeat, 300th Time Since Taking Office
One day after reportedly hearing the news that he had lost the 2020 election while on a golf course in Virginia, President Donald Trump returned for a second trip.
According to the White House media pool update, the President's motorcade arrived at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling at 9:57 a.m. on November 8.
The president was met with both supporters and protesters waving flags and banners as he entered the golf in his motorcade.
According to CNN, this is the 300th time that Trump has attended one of his golf courses during his time in office.
An independent website, Trump Golf Count, places the number at slightly lower, claiming that there have been 284 visits by Trump to his courses since his inauguration in January 2017, with evidence of playing golf on at least 141 visits.
On the same morning, president elect Joe Biden, his wife and several grandchildren arrived for the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph On the Brandywine Catholic Church in Wilmington, according to the White House press pool.
Trump attended the same golf course on Saturday around the same time that several news organizations, including Fox News and the Associated Press, declared that Biden won the election.
Accordion to the press pool, Trump arrived at his golf course "wearing white Maga cap, windbreaker, dark slacks, non-dress shirt, shoes that look appropriate for golfing."
Trump has been criticized for the amount of time he spends on the golf course, especially as he was so critical of how often his predecessor Barack Obama played the game while he was in the White House. Trump Golf Count estimates that Obama played golf 306 during his eight-year presidency, slightly above Trump's with two months left of his four-year time in the White House still to come.
In July, Trump defended against the criticism by saying he plays for exercise and it was also when he conducts presidential work.

"I know many in business and politics that work out endlessly, in some cases to a point of exhaustion. It is their number one passion in life, but nobody complains," he tweeted. "My 'exercise' is playing, almost never during the week, a quick round of golf. Obama played more and much longer rounds, no problem.
"When I play, Fake News CNN, and others, park themselves anywhere they can to get a picture, then scream 'President Trump is playing golf.' Actually, I play VERY fast, get a lot of work done on the golf course, and also get a 'tiny' bit of exercise. Not bad!"
